A person I had a longstanding intimate connection with exited my life earlier this year.
It was strange because I always saw a future with them, even if I wasn't happy in the present.
When they left, they gave me their record collection.
In an attempt to piece together what happened and in an attempt to teach myself to let go, I digitized the collection and worked with what I had on my laptop in order to create this album.
Most of the samples used here except for a song or two are from their record collection and was eventually sold to a local record shop to free up space and load up my wallet.
I don't know if that's a gesture of bad faith on my part. I figure it's a way to let go.
It's unhealthy to get stuck in the past but it can be helpful to use the past to inform the present and prepare for the future.
Our time together may be gone but the memories will stick with me until the day I die.

Well if it is, then let's do a "shorter" version.
A person I had a longstanding on-again, off-again deep connection with exited my life earlier this year.
This is a sequel to the 2018 album "XOXO," which was dedicated to this special person as a gesture of my love towards them at that period in time.
This album is dedicated to this person as well, but as a love letter to our past, and a gesture of good will to them to have a nice life in the future.
"Bonsai" is meant to symbolize harmony and peace with our inner thoughts, and a balance of all things in the natural world.
Here's to the idea that I will get closer to achieving this state of mind with the release of this record.
